Publishable 2024 is Queensland Writers Centre's 15th annual national manuscript development program for emerging writers.

The program gives up to 25 successful applicants with completed manuscripts the chance to take part in a tailored manuscript development program, designed to strengthen, refine and polish their completed manuscript. Writers can expect to work with professional writers, the Queensland Writers Centre team, and industry experts, applying that knowledge to their own manuscripts to take them closer to publication.

Up to 10 shortlisted writers will receive a 5-hour mentorship with an industry professional. On completion of the mentorship phase, shortlisted writers will also be given the opportunity to attend pitch interviews with specially matched agents and publishers. Opportunities for feedback and development are available for all applicants, including a complimentary workshop tailored to the year’s cohort of applications – all helping you progress your manuscript closer to publication.

Workshops:

Your Online Presence + Other DIY Stories with Kathy George

Nobody warns you when you become a writer it’s the start of a whole other sideline. You need a website, and an online presence; potential readers, fans, followers and likes — and you need to convey the impression you’ve been doing this for years.

How do you develop appropriate content to post online, find out what your followers want — and do all this whilst not only continuing to write, but remaining calm and kind?

Write More Brand More with C T Mitchell

In today's digital era, authors can’t rely on the old approaches to being discovered. You need a clear, definitive and active brand to get the attention of readers and publishers.

This workshop will help make you a successful writer, attract more opportunities and boost your income off the back of your personal brand.

Optional add-on –
