Finding your own true story through nature.

This one-day workshop will use prompts from the natural world to help writers find their writing home and develop their writing practice. The intention would be to help writers develop or return to a writing practice and find their own true story.

Learning outcomes

As part of this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Develop a writing practice.

  • Write from nature.

  • Find your own true story.

Format

This is an in-person workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held at the State Library of Queensland. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels and backgrounds.

About Mary-Rose

Mary-Rose MacColl is the author of the internationally published novels In Falling Snow and The True Story of Maddie Bright. Her memoir For a Girl was shortlisted for awards, as was her non-fiction book The Birth Wars. She has also written many other things over the years - see Mary-Rose MacColl's website for more.
