Writing For Illustrated Stories with Shannon Horsfall (10-16)

Discover the combined power of written and illustrated narratives with Shannon Horsfall.

A fun, interactive workshop for young writers on storytelling craft for visual narratives, including graphic novels, comics and more. We’ll cover basic story elements, how writers and illustrators work together, and how to allow verbal and visual narratives to interact to best reveal story.

 

Format

This is a free workshop for young writers aged 10-16 held as part of Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival 2023, in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council. Bookings are required.

About Shannon

Shannon Horsfall is undertaking her PhD in Creative Writing at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She is the award-winning author-illustrator of Was Not Me and Nomax (both HarperCollins), and the illustrator of Dear Santa (Scholastic), My Unicorn Farts Glitter (Hachette) and Once I Munched a Mango (SLQ). She has published short stories, poetry and flash fiction and teaches Creative Writing at UniSC.
