Middle Ground

A monthly creative writing group and freeform workshop for young writers aged 16-20.

School has ended. University and the workforce have arrived. But are you worried about losing that spark of creativity? The Middle Ground, a new freeform workshop and writing group for young Queensland Writers Centre members aged 16-20, is your opportunity to connect with likeminded writers and work on your stories, with access to advice and a consistent structure.

Queensland Writers Centre tutors facilitate the workshop and offer support by listening to ideas, reading work, and helping edit pieces for submission opportunities. We’re all about working towards goals, publishing opportunities, allowing for writing time and free discussion at every workshop.

Full session dates for 2023 are available here. Please book no more than two months ahead, and make sure to cancel your bookings or let us know if you are no longer able to attend.

Format

This is a free, monthly in-person writing group for young writers (aged 16-20); it will be held at State Library of Queensland. It is a program for young writers of all levels, writing backgrounds and abilities.
