How To Haiku with Dannika Patterson (8-12)

  • State Library of Queensland Meeting Room 1B, Level 1, State Library of Queensland Stanley Pl, South Brisbane QLD 4101 Australia (map)

Join author Dannika Patterson for an adventure into the art of haiku poetry.

Using Dannika's book SeaSpray17: Ocean Photography & Haiku Poetry as a point of reference, you'll be inspired to create your own haiku in this highly interactive workshop.

Using a mix of photographs, sensory prompts and collected stimuli from nature, you'll tune into your senses to practise the art of haiku: capturing a moment in time in poetic form.

Format

This workshop for young writers aged 8-12 is held as part of Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival 2023, in partnership with State Library of Queensland. Bookings are required.
