We’ll cover the major elements of creative writing, including plotting, creating characters, strong openings, dialogue and humour, as well as working on a sentence level - editing, show vs. tell, and much more.

This workshop for young writers aged 8-12 is held as part of Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival 2023, in partnership with State Library of Queensland. Bookings are required.

About DAve
Dave Lowe is the Brisbane-based author of eleven junior fiction novels, published in the UK, Australia and in seven translations, including the award-winning Stinky and Jinks and The Incredible Dadventure series.
Dave has also written four plays, including an adaptation of Andy Griffiths’ The Day My Bum Went Psycho – and Cinderella and the Seven Dwarfs which will be premiering in Brisbane in September this year. He also co-wrote Café, an episode of the TV show Bluey.
