Pof and Nik by G. W.
Human's view
As far as Nik could be concerned, Pof was quite an interesting specimen. He was lavender, with short fluffy spikes of white.
As Nik reached out to touch him, Pof jumped out of the way slightly, but soon reached out with his fuzziness to touch her. She felt Pof’s tender fluffiness, but soon realised he had a small layer of armour, quite like an armadillo, under his fuzz.
He snuggled into Nik’s hand, which she thought was fairly adorable. But, suddenly, Pof jumped up onto Nik’s face and she smelt the brilliant strawberry scent of his fluff, and heard his soft gentle purring, like how a tiny, contented cat might sound.
Nik squealed softly with delight and reached out to gently pull him off her face. She realised that he had fallen asleep.
Pom-pom's view
Pof woke up suddenly to realise a human was touching him.
Nik, he thought.
(He had heard some other human talking to this one before and it called her Nik.)
Nik felt quite smooth, and not fuzzy at all, which was peculiar. She had a large lump on her which contained numerous, multi-coloured holes (he could count seven) and long, wavy, black fuzz grew out of it. She looked reasonably gentle, for a human, even if she was reaching inside Pof’s fuzz and touching his underlayer.
Oooh, that’s nice. Oooooooh, he thought.
He buried himself between the five eerie growths on Nik’s hand, which was quite comfy. But he smelt something amazing coming from Nik’s holey (holy?) lump, so he jumped onto it.
It smelt positively SPECTACULAR. He started purring. which only happened when he was extremely pleased.
Nik made a soft squeak sound from a hole on her lump and, at that, Pof decided he would have a short nap.
Later…
Pof woke up in an enormous beige room.
He was on a large platform in which a hollow hemisphere filled with some kind of liquid in it was resting on. There were small brown things floating in it and Nik was scooping some of those brown things out of it and putting them in one of her holes with a small metal utensil.
When Nik looked at Pof, her eyes widened, and one of her holes stretched into what looked like a smile. Some sound came out of it, and Pof thought it meant: Come eat these brown things with me.
Pof bounded over to the hemisphere and jumped into it like it was a pool. He opened his underlayer hole and slurped up some liquid and brown things into it. Suddenly, he was overcome with delight – it was the most delicious thing he had ever tasted. It tasted like rainbows and sunlight and warm fuzzy feelings. Pof backflipped over the hemisphere and started doing the Kippy Dance his parents had taught him.
Nik laughed and spoke again in her weird human language.
If Pof could understand Nik, he would have heard her say, “If you like this, wait until you try chocolate!”
