Meet and learn from author Nicole Hayes in this youth writing workshop.

Writing Legends is a practical, interactive writing workshop that offers dynamic story prompts, writing challenges, and guidance in story development by award winning author and screenwriter, Nicole Hayes. Structured specifically for beginning / emerging young writers aged 10-16, students will benefit from tips on where to find ideas, building a story, and finding their voice.

 

Format

This is an in-person workshop for young writers (aged 10-16) with a focus on craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. It is a program for young writers of all levels, writing backgrounds and abilities. 

About Nicole

Nicole Hayes is an award-winning author and podcaster. Her books have won or shortlisted in multiple awards, including NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and CBCAs. She’s co-writer of the only AFL-licensed junior fiction series, and she is a founding member of the groundbreaking, all female AFL podcast, The Outer Sanctum. She is undertaking a PhD at Deakin University where she also teaches Creative Writing.
