About This Event

Through lockdowns and turbulence, you wonderful lot have been with us for yet another year. Queensland Writers Centre is so thankful for all writers who have come to write in our space, and we look forward to seeing you again in the new year.

Writing Friday - Terms of Participation

Please note that QLD Health guidelines apply. Masks are mandatory unless you are subject to a lawful exemption.

Arrive at 10:00am and sign in through the Check In Qld app at State Library front desk, then proceed to Floor 2 and into Queensland Writers Centre.

Please stay at home if you are feeling unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.

Please do not bring any food or drink beside bottled water into the QWC writing space. Phones should be switched off or put on silent and stored away in a bag.

Pomodoro rules apply. 25-minutes silent work, 5-minutes break and then back at it (with a 10-minute break for every third break). Lunch break is from 12.50pm - 1:30pm.

You will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with your ticket.

Please cancel your booking if you are unable to come. Writing Fridays is often booked out, and if you cannot make it that means that someone else might use your seat.

How to cancel your booking:

1. Go to your order. Log in to your Eventbrite account, then click your order on the Tickets page.

2. Choose "Cancel Order". Select 'Cancel Order" (next to your order details). Then choose “Yes, cancel this order".

3. Check for an email from Eventbrite. You will receive an email to confirm your cancellation. Please confirm

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are several parking and transportation options:

Parking underneath State Library or Queensland Museum costs $17 per entry.

• There is limited street parking available on Merivale Street, Montague Road and Hope Street at an hourly rate.

• A drop-off point is located on the ring road outside SLQ, next to the bus stops.

• The Cultural Precinct BusWay and South Brisbane Train Station are a short walk from State Library.
