Dialogue is a way to create voice, character, advance story, and hold emotional content. More than just mimicking everyday speech, it contains the spirit of the story. In this Queensland Writers Centre workshop, learn to write dialogue that has purpose, that sounds natural, and that works.

Running this course is Emily Larkin. Emily is a Queensland author and academic. Her picture book, The Whirlpool (2017) is illustrated by Helene Magisson and published by Wombat Books. Emily holds a Doctorate in Creative Writing, and has worked as a Sessional Tutor at Australian universities such as UQ, QUT, and USC. She has published fiction internationally in journals, and loves running workshops.

To book, call 5540 5050 during office hours (Tuesday to Friday, 10am-4pm) or email your registration request to thecentre@scenicrim.qld.gov.au.
