With over 20-year of industry experience working as an editor and publisher in Australia and overseas, Kristina Schulz will offer you professional advice, guidance, and tips to help navigate the complex world of publishing.

This is an online seminar with a focus on sustainability and engagement. It is a level 2 course, suitable for intermediate writers and above.

About Kristina:
Kristina Schulz has worked as an editor and publisher for over twenty years in Brisbane, Sydney, New York, and London. Most recently she was the Children’s and Young Adult Publisher at the University of Queensland Press (UQP). Kristina has spoken at writers’ festivals and conferences, contributed to industry boards and panels, judged writers’ prizes, and has helped authors and illustrators at pitching sessions and with manuscript feedback, structural work, editing and mentoring. She loves working with Australian voices and is always drawn to books with strong themes and stories with heart. She is passionate about getting books into the hands of readers and would love to see a teacher-librarian in every school around the country.

Once you purchase a ticket, you will receive an email from Eventbrite confirming your attendance, and an email from Queensland Writers Centre with a link to the Crowdcast Live Stream. Simply follow the link to access the live stream event.
FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Unless otherwise stated, Queensland Writers Centre live streams and events are suitable for participants aged 16 years and over. If you are under 18 years of age, please check with us for suitability before purchasing a ticket.
Can I ask the instructor questions as a live stream viewer?
The Live Stream Facilitator will monitor the chat section and endeavour to forward questions to the presenter during question time.
What should I prepare for the event?
We suggest having either a pen and paper or electronic note-taking device as you watch the live stream.
How do I access the live stream?
Once you purchase a ticket, you will receive an email from Eventbrite confirming your attendance, and an email from Queensland Writers Centre with a link to the Crowdcast Live Stream. Simply follow the link to access the live stream event.
Can I replay the live stream after the event has happened?
Yes! You will have access to the live stream for seven days after the event. Please keep in mind that you won't be able to use the chat feature and ask questions to the presenter.
What am I allowed to say in the group chat?
The group chat is a fantastic way to interact and collaborate with other online participants, the QWC, and the presenter. Please be courteous and respectful in the group chat when addressing others.
How do I improve the video quality of my live stream?
Every live stream is broadcasted in high definition. To watch the live stream in the best quality, select the gear icon in the bottom left of the video and select the highest possible resolution (in most cases this is 720p).
What internet browser should I use?
We recommend using the Google Chrome web browser to watch the live stream. However, Crowdcast does also support Firefox, Opera, Edge, and Safari.
Can I watch the live stream on my mobile device?
On Android, Crowdcast can be used with Chrome for Android or Firefox for Android.
On iOS, you can use the Crowdcast app or view the live stream in your favourite Mobile browser!
What's the refund policy?
This event is refundable up to 7 days before the event. Eventbrite's fee is nonrefundable.

We reserve the right to make changes to the advertised program information (including course content and tutors), but if this occurs, we will try to provide as much notice as possible. We expect that all participants will behave respectfully and professionally towards their facilitator and fellow students. We reserve the right to remove anyone who behaves in an aggressive or disruptive manner. If a participant is asked to leave the class on this basis, we will not offer a refund.
