What can great short stories teach us? How can we turn our own obsessions into great fiction? This Queensland Writers Centre workshop is designed to help you generate ideas for short fiction based on your own interests. Discuss techniques and writing habits to help you develop, draft and improve your work.
Running this workshop is Edwina Shaw. Edwina’s first novel, Thrill Seekers, was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Award for New Writing, and her children’s book In the Dark of Night was selected for a nationwide Reading Program. Over 30 of her pieces have been published in literary journals and anthologies including Best Australian Stories. Her screenplay M is currently under development with Screen QLD. She is the editor of Bjelke Blues. She teaches creative writing at UQ and also runs Relax and Write Retreats.
This workshop is offered for free by Brisbane City Council in partnership with Queensland Writers Centre. To book a spot, call New Farm Library on 07 3403 1062.
