Self-Publishing In Print & Digital with Kylie Chan

  • Queensland Writers Centre Stanley Place South Brisbane, QLD, 4101 Australia (map)

Self-Publishing In Print & Digital

Publish your story in digital or print - a full demonstration that will teach you how to go from a Word document to having a digital book available online and/or a printed book delivered to your door.

This workshop will outline the basics of self-publishing, then expand to show - in demonstration format, with full background information - the process to digitally or print publish your own book. Kylie will give you valuable tips on typesetting, cover design, distribution channels, and pitfalls to avoid in the self-publishing process.

Learn how to publish your book, both digitally and in print, with a great cover and interior that you can easily design yourself. You will learn the requirements for bookshop distribution, and the process to produce your own print book on various types of print-on-demand services.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, the participant will have the skills to digitally/print self-publish their own book. Kylie will provide all the skills necessary as well as walking the participants through the process of digitally/print publishing their own book, to the stage of having a digital/print book available online and in book stores.

Format

This is a hybrid workshop with a focus on industry information; it will be held in-person at State Library of Queensland and live streamed simultaneously to an online audience via Zoom. As a Level 1 workshop, it is suitable for all writers.
