Everything you need to know about self-publishing, whether you're a first-time publisher or a hybrid author.

Join NYT bestselling author Ellie Marney for a practical weekend intensive. This course is designed to outfit you with all the skills and information you need to successfully self-publish your book, from essential knowledge to more advanced tricks. As Beth Revis said, "Welcome to the world of publishing. BYOB." This course will run across two days, full of learning and practical hands-on activities.

   

Learning outcomes

This bootcamp will explore the following topics:

  • Why to self-publish - discover the state of play in today's publishing environment.

  • Production budgets and publishing schedules - how to manage the learning curve.

  • Avoiding the pitfalls - everything from banking and book covers to barcodes, metadata and pricing.

  • From publication to promotion - learn how to create your book marketing field kit.

Format

This is an intensive two-day course with a focus on self-publishing; it will be held in-person at Queensland Writers Centre.

About Ellie
