In this session, we will break down what is meant by “show, don’t tell”, what it looks like, how to apply it and when — including when not to. Award-winning author Nicole Hayes will draw on examples of when it works and when it doesn’t. Through guided exercises and handy tips, Nicole will show you how to construct dynamic scenes that serve your story and bring out your best writing.

This is an onlineseminar with a focus on writing craft; it will be hosted via Zoom. This workshop is suitable for fiction writers of all levels and writing backgrounds.

About Nicole
Nicole Hayes is an award-winning author of books for adults and young people. Her YA novels have won or shortlisted in multiple awards, including the Children’s Peace Literature Award and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. She is founding member of the award winning Outer Sanctum podcast and radio show, and has a PhD in Creative Writing. She runs writing workshops for young people and adults across all forms of writing.
