Podcasting For Writers with Ben Hobson


Learn how to create, write, organise, record, and upload your own podcast.

This program will take participants from conceiving an idea, all the way through to doing market research, writing, recording, organising interviewees, generating art and uploading their final program. This is your one-stop-shop for everything podcast related!

   

Learning outcomes

As part of this workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • Create a podcast - idea, art, record, upload

  • Identify how to maintain an uploading schedule

  • Understand the marketplace of podcasts, especially in the writing community and industry.

     

Format

This is an online workshop with a focus on podcasting and industry; it will be hosted via Zoom. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels and writing backgrounds.

 

About Ben

Ben Hobson is a teacher, and an author, based in Brisbane. To Become a Whale, his debut novel, was released in 2017. It was longlisted for the ABIA Debut Fiction award and shortlisted for the Courier-Mail's People's Choice Award. His second novel, Snake Island, a literary thriller, was released in 2019. He also runs Ben's Book Club, a monthly online book club for libraries, and often does in-person interviews with authors. The Death of John Lacey, an Australian Western, was released in 2023, and is his third novel.
