Plotting Masterclass
Learn to craft the kind of plot that could turn your next book into a bestseller!
In this workshop, we’ll be looking at character and emotion driven plotting, rather than trying to impose a plot upon a story. And don’t worry if you’re a pantser – Natasha is too! Natasha will teach an approach to creating a plot that suits all kinds of writers – and writers of every level.
We’ll look at what’s missing from conventional methods of plotting and, in place of those methods, you’ll learn about story sparklers, and why and how a character’s motivations, emotional responses and behavioural reactions drive plot. We’ll also talk about the seven story fundamentals, the stakes of your story, and how to raise these in order to propel your plot forwards.
This workshop is held as part of GenreCon 2023: Forbidden Doors' Friday schedule of workshops. For more information and to book for the main GenreCon 2023 program, visit www.genrecon.com.au.
