Memoir is one of the most fascinating genres for readers and writers alike. We all have a story to tell, but how do we translate that story into an exciting narrative? This Queensland Writers Centre workshop will examine the fundamentals of memoir writing, giving you exercises and knowledge to evoke the places, people, and events of your memory in a compelling fashion.
Running this course is Sarah Klenbort. Sarah is a prize-winning writer who’s just moved to Brisbane after teaching Literature at Western Sydney University and Memoir Writing at Sydney Community College for nine years. She also recently received a grant to teach Memoir at Waverley Library. Her writing has appeared in Best Australian Stories, Overland, Southerly, Island Magazine, The Guardian and various anthologies. She has an MFA from Columbia University and a PhD in Literature from Binghamton University. Sarah loves meeting writers and reading their stories.
