In this intensive workshop, learn the foundations of fiction writing and establish the skills necessary to start the first draft of your literary novel. Through a combination of writing exercises, reading analysis, and group discussions, we will demystify the art of novel writing, and equip you with the confidence and momentum to turn your ideas and concepts into compelling narratives.

Format
This is a hybrid workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held in-person at Queensland Writers Centre, State Library of Queensland, and live streamed simultaneously to an online audience via Zoom. As a Level 1 workshop, it is suitable for writers at all levels and from all writing backgrounds.
About Emily
Emily O'Grady’s debut novel, The Yellow House won the 2018 Australian/Vogel's Literary Award and was shortlisted for the 2019 Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction. Her second novel, Feast, is forthcoming with Allen & Unwin in 2023. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from QUT.
