Our brains are programmed to store traumatic memories to prevent what caused them, hopefully, ever happening again. And although it is useful to get those memories out of our heads and onto the page once, it does us no good to keep repeating and reliving them. Change comes through re-imagining the past, claiming power over the stories we tell ourselves and inventing new ways of seeing these stories. We can train our brains to remember and focus on the happy times, even if these are just fleeting moments. Once we start looking for joyful moments they begin to multiply. In this workshop we search out the light within the darkness and learn fun new ways to rewrite our lives. Through the power of our imaginations we can write ourselves new endings, new beginnings and whole new stories to explore. Join writer and yoga teacher Edwina Shaw and discover the healing power of story.
Edwina Shaw will run two sessions throughout the day. The morning session will be a workshop from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with 30 minutes at the end for questions.
In the afternoon, Edwina Shaw will be having 20 minute one-on-one sessions with authors from 2:30PM - 4:30 PM. These spots are very limited so get in quick!
