Writing your family history is a gift to future generations. But, where to start? In this workshop we’ll share stories, explore various structures and formats, and learn practical writing and research techniques. We’ll also do a writing exercise, so bring a pen and paper or something to write on. Come along to this supportive three-hour workshop and be inspired to create your family history.

This is a hybrid workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held in-person at State Library of Queensland and live streamed simultaneously to an online audience via Zoom. It is a level 1 workshop, suitable for writers at levels
About SARAH
Sarah Klenbort is a prize-winning writer and sessional academic at the University of Queensland, where she teaches literature and creative writing. She also teaches memoir writing and family history at the Queensland Writers Centre. Sarah's writing has appeared in the Guardian, Best Australian Stories, Overland, Island, Eureka Street, Mslexia and various literary journals and anthologies here and abroad.
