Try something new! become an adventure comic writer with Paul Mason.

Join award-winning comics writer, cartoonist, and animation concept designer Paul Mason for an exploration of the comic creation process, and get started making your own adventure comic.

 

Format

This is a free workshop for young writers aged 10-16 held as part of Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival 2023, in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council. Bookings are required.

About Paul

Dr. Paul Mason is an award-winning cartoonist, and animation concept designer.  He is a writer and artist for Australia's largest comic book publishers Frew Publications (The Phantom, Kid Phantom), and Gestalt Comics (Flock, Eldritch Kid: Bone War, Talgard), and has worked as a concept designer on The Deep animated series season 4. He is a lecturer at the Griffith Film School, as part of the Bachelor of Animation program, teaching storyboarding, art direction, animation pre-production, comics and visual storytelling. He is a recipient of the Australian Cartoonists Association's Stanley Award for comic book artist of 2022, and a Ledger Award in 2020 for his first Phantom story.
