Do You Speak-a My Language? with International Poet-in-Residence Chris Tse

  • Queensland Writers Centre Stanley Place South Brisbane, QLD, 4101 Australia (map)

book your place

Poet-in-Residence Chris Tse guides you on an exploration and analysis of New Zealand poetry, to help you learn to improve your own craft.

Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia are only separated by a few thousand kilometres, but the distance between our respective literary worlds is arguably greater. Why don’t we read more of each other’s writers? And what would we learn if we did? In this workshop, the Trans-Tasman rivalry is put on hold while participants embark on a literary exchange through close readings of, and creative responses to, the work of New Zealand poets.

Format

This is an in-person workshop with a focus on craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. This workshop is suitable for poets of all levels and writing backgrounds.
