Adventure Zines with Dannika Patterson (10-16)

Adventure into the world of zines with Author Dannika Patterson.

In this interactive workshop, participants will hone their creative hunting skills, learning a range of techniques to catch ideas throughout their daily adventures and turn them into zines and story-starters!

Using a range of sensory nature prompts around various stations, there'll be a combination of group discussion and individual creative time to record freshly gathered 'wild ideas' and story-starters in various forms. Participants will each create their own 'Adventure Zine' in this workshop, and will walk away with a range of tips, tricks and inspiration to continue their writing adventures!

 

Format

This is a free workshop for young writers aged 10-16 held as part of Brisbane Children’s Writers Festival 2023, in partnership with Brisbane City Council. Bookings are required.

About DANNIKA

Dannika Patterson is an author, workshop presenter & copywriter with degrees in Psychology and Journalism. 

Her words & workshops educate, empower and inspire children in a gentle, joyful way.
Dannika has written numerous picture books, including Jacaranda Magic, Scribbly Gum Secrets, Heavy and Hedgehog the Wonder Dog, plus a sprinkling of graphic novels and a collection of poetry.

Things Dannika can't get enough of include adventures with her family, coffee, dogs, the ocean and conversations with kids - they say the most inspiring, important and true things!
