Curate a toolbox of methods to turn your ideas into words on the page, quickly, every time you sit down to write.
You have a book idea but you don’t know where or how to begin. Or how to get past the blissful first three chapters. Or how to finish the book you‘ve been writing for years. Or you find yourself more busy than productive when you do find time to write.
The From Idea to Page workshop will provide you with a vibrant collection of engaging tools to help you take those ephemeral ideas and sparks of inspiration and layer them onto the page, as well as practical measures to help you connect with your story quickly, every time you sit down to write.
Learning outcomes
Participants will:
Learn how to take a nascent idea and expanding it into something fresh, rich and three dimensional
Ascertain how best to organise a workspace in order to collate ideas and recall information quickly
Uncover how to know exactly what to write each writing session
Discover how to get past the sludgy middle
Brainstorm how to get the most out of writing time, by connecting with the book as quickly as possible.
Format
This is an in-person workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels and writing backgrounds.
